If I would receive the prize, I would spend the funding on fully developing the project ‘The cycle of Water‘. This includes Studio Spaces, an Art Direction Course, materials (film and developing, in which the financial factor holds me back the most), a monitor and graphic tablet to edit my images and overall shooting expenses. It would also help me with my travels and stay in Darlington and any permits.
Protecting our earth’s waters is now more than ever important.
With my project ‘The cycle of water‘ I would take the opportunity and continue my exploration further into Europe, starting in Darlington. Exploring how water in the region is sources, treated, distributed and used. Not only would the project bring to forth an awareness and fresh perspective towards our waters, but also show the pristine beauty of the region, with the waterfalls, south park, the river Skerne, and much more, I would explore all things Water. In numerous shoots I would put a strong focus on the people, candid shots of water and the environment, interviews, and tell it through my visual language, documentary-like approach yet through my own aesthetic filter.
I started this journey last month in Mexico, where I had the privilege to shoot at a Water Conference in Bacalar, Mexico, on the 28th of March 2025.
The event was an immersive visual narrative led by astrophysicist Dr. Alex Ling and microbiologist Mercury Amarilis, who presented the Community Water Laboratory, a social initiative he is establishing in Bacalar to raise awareness and educate about the sacred importance of this ecosystem.
I am an Austrian photographer, living and working in London.
Growing up on the countryside of Austria, the forest provided a space to build a strong bond with Mama Nature.
Originating from a musical background, I subsequently discovered photography in my 20s.
As the camera eventually presented itself as my only constant, I found myself taking pictures between rural and urban spaces.
Through going back and forth between nature and the city my work interweaves both worlds.
My images are about perspective change, identity, the meaning of home and the protection of our earth.
I freelance at an art print space, photographic studios and shoot campaigns and personal projects.
Recently I am part at the Deptford Fringe Festival, where I will be showcasing three of my latest works.
I studied philosophy and think of doing my masters after having established myself as a photographer. I am fully self tought and find it best to learn by doing.
I have never applied for any grants or awards before, this is my first time.
Since June 2022 I am part of Leo Prothmann, a London-based brand that is all about inclusivity, individuality, progressive nature, youth and strength. I shot every campaign up to this day and help in production and social events.
On the side I work at studio monde, which is a photographic studio. We also host workshops and learning sessions, where I help with organisation.
Development company Ballymore purchased an artwork for their lobby three years ago.
Other than that I sell prints to individuals.
