My work tells a story of balance and coexistence between humans and non-human beings. Through recurring themes of landscapes, trees, water, and diverse life forms, I explore philosophical questions of multispecies existence and envision a positive future beyond the Anthropocene. – Sentient Landscapes Project started in 2021 >> in 2021 I organised art residency with Lucy Rees & wild Pottoka horses in Extremadura mountains, Spain, >> this led to exhibition at Piornal Museum >> my research led to me organising a 5 people expedition to the steppes of Tyva, South Siberia >> my research for this expedition was used by Lizzie Mackenzie to receive film grants, she found a sound person to go with her and went to the same location second time to continue filming. Lucy Rees also took part in our expedition, and used it for her personal research of equine behaviour >> Lizzie is now editing the film and Lucy is using her research to write a book. I am still working on this project :)
– 2012 – 2019: I started and fully managed 5th Base Gallery in East London https://www.artrabbit.com/organisations/5th-base-gallery , where I organised several exhibitions and events. >> I also worked with street artists, providing them with our large wall outside in the courtyard to paint and then, to cover their expenses, provided them with a gallery space free of charge to exhibit and sell their works. Our wall was the largest in the well known Brick Lane area and local tour guides were bringing large crowds to see new street art works on our wall and gates. >> During that time I also organised and curated international short film nights https://www.artrabbit.com/events/5th-base-film-night that were free to apply to, free to screen films and free to attend. They were a lot of work for no money, we did have a lot of fun working on them though.
