The Dover Prize Stipend would be immensely helpful for me in order to be able to focus only on my painting and develop a body of work, having the freedom to experiment and really focus on the work and not sales! This would be the healthiest way to grow artistically.

I am a Bulgarian-born painter working across historical, mythological, and psychological themes. Trained in classical techniques—first in icon painting, then through formal studies in Germany—I’ve gradually moved toward a more intuitive and emotionally open language. My work is shaped by a deep connection to Baroque painting, as well as by my background in psychology and ongoing engagement with literature.
